Highlights

Itinerary

DAY 1  Arrival in Chengdu or Guangzhou

Upon arrival at Chengdu or Guangzhou airport, your tour guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Chengdu or Guangzhou is the entry point to Tibet (NYINGCHI or Lhasa). Overnight in Chengdu or Guangzhou.

Day 2  Flight to Nyingchi and Sacred Cypress Visit

Take a domestic flight to Nyingchi, often called the "Jiangnan of Tibet" for its lush landscapes and temperate beauty. With snow-capped peaks in the distance and rich greenery that echoes the charm of the Swiss Alps, Nyingchi offers a refreshing contrast to Tibet’s high-altitude deserts. Upon arrival, visit the revered Giant Cypress Park, home to a 2,000–2,500-year-old tree honored by locals as a sacred guardian of the land.

Day 3  Through Forests and Peaks: Journey to Ranwu

After breakfast, depart from Nyingchi and travel through Bome to reach Ranwu, covering a distance of 380 km. En route, take in the awe-inspiring views of Sejia Mountain and the sacred Namjagbarwa Peak, known as the most stunning summit at the eastern end of the Himalayas. Revered as the “Father of the Mountains in Tibet”, this peak holds deep spiritual significance for followers of the ancient Yongzhongben Buddhist sect. Continue to Lulang Linhai, or “Dragon King Valley,” located 75 km east of Bayi Town. Famed for its picturesque alpine meadows and thick forests, Lulang is often said to stir a sense of homesickness with its tranquil charm. Stop by the Gangxiang Spruce Forest, celebrated by Chinese National Geography as one of China’s ten most beautiful forests, and admire its pristine, untouched beauty. Finally, visit Guxiang Lake—one of Tibet’s most stunning freshwater lakes. Formed by a massive mudslide that blocked the Parung Zangbo River, this high-altitude barrier lake is nestled in the dramatic landscape of southeastern Tibet.

Day 4  Frozen Wonders of Laigu and Ranwu

After breakfast, journey toward Bome, passing through the serene landscapes surrounding the source of the Palong Zangbo River. Along the way, take in the striking beauty of Ranwu Lake, often called the "Sleeping Beauty" for its graceful, dreamlike appearance. The lake stretches all the way to the Laigu Glacier, where snow-capped peaks and turquoise waters meet. Explore the awe-inspiring Laigu Glacier—Tibet’s largest and broadest, and one of the top three largest glaciers in the world. "Laigu" translates to "hidden paradise" in Tibetan, and this majestic destination lives up to its name. Your first view of the glacier is unforgettable, like the sudden appearance of a rare and radiant vision. To deepen the experience, you’ll have a chance to walk near the glacier itself. With crampons provided, step onto the frozen terrain, pose beside towering ice walls, and capture the raw, untouched beauty of this frozen world.

Day 5   Journey Through Nyingchi

After breakfast at the hotel, set off on a picturesque journey from Bome to Basongcuo, with a stop in Nyingchi. Along the way, visit Lulang International Town and enjoy a peaceful horse ride across its expansive meadows, framed by dense forests and snow-capped peaks—one of the gems along National Highway 318. Continue the drive with a scenic pause at the confluence of the Brahmaputra and Niyang Rivers, where two mighty waterways meet in a dramatic and beautiful landscape.

Day 6  From Alpine Lakes to the Heart of Tibet

After breakfast at the hotel, begin your scenic drive to Lhasa. En route, visit Basongcuo, often called Tibet’s “Little Switzerland” for its pristine alpine beauty. Known in Tibetan as "Cogao Lake," meaning "green water," this crystal-clear lake offers stunning views, complemented by a sightseeing bus ride and a tranquil boat trip. Continue through the Mila Mountain Tunnel, a key section of the modern highway connecting Nyingchi and Lhasa. Spanning 409.2 kilometers, the four-lane highway—with an 80 km/h speed limit—has significantly cut travel time between the two cities from eight hours to four. Overnight in Lhasa.

Day 7  Lhasa City, Potala Place and Barkhor Street

Begin the day at the Potala Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the historic winter residence of the Dalai Lama. Perched at 12,139 feet, this 13-story architectural masterpiece houses over 1,000 rooms, along with an impressive collection of statues, stupas, murals, and artifacts. Next, visit Jokhang Temple, another UNESCO World Heritage site and the spiritual heart of Tibetan Buddhism. Adjacent to the temple is Barkhor Street, a vibrant area bustling with pilgrims and vendors offering traditional Tibetan items such as prayer wheels and jewelry. For a unique experience, dress in traditional Tibetan costume and have your portrait taken by a professional photographer. You will receive 10 electronic negatives as a keepsake.

Day 8 Departure from Lhasa

Enjoy a smooth and hassle-free transfer to the airport or train station.
