Itinerary

Day 1Chengdu/Guangzhou – Arrival

Arrive at Chengdu International Airport or Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, where your local driver will meet you and transfer you to the hotel. Spend the day relaxing and preparing for your journey into Tibet.

Day 2Nyingchi

Take a domestic flight to Nyingchi, known as the “Jiangnan of Tibet” for its lush forests and mild climate. Upon arrival, visit the Giant Cypress Nature Reserve of Bajie, home to sacred 2,000–2,500-year-old cypress trees, and enjoy a tranquil stroll through the park’s spiritual surroundings.

Day 3Nyingchi to Ranwu

Travel overland from Bayi District, Nyingchi to Rawu (Baxoi County), approximately 380 km, enjoying views of Namjagbarwa Peak and surrounding mountains. Stop at Lulang Forest (Lulang Linhai) to admire alpine meadows and pine forests, visit Gangxiang Spruce Forest, and conclude at Guxiang Lake, a high-altitude freshwater lake set against dramatic peaks.

Day 4Ranwu to Bome

Journey from Rawu to Bome County, passing the source region of the Parlung Tsangpo River. Stop at Ranwu Lake, often called the “Sleeping Beauty” for its serene beauty, and explore Laigu Glacier, Tibet’s largest glacier, walking safely with crampons while photographing the turquoise lakes and towering ice formations.

Day 5Bome to Basongcuo

Depart Bome County for Basongcuo in Gongbo’gyamda County, stopping to ride horses through the meadows of Lulang International Tourism Town, framed by forests and snow-capped peaks along National Highway 318. Continue to the confluence of the Brahmaputra and Niyang Rivers, a striking natural landmark.

Day 6Basongcuo to Lhasa

Drive from Basongcuo Scenic Spot to Lhasa, stopping at Basongcuo Lake (Pagsum Co) for sightseeing and a serene boat ride on the emerald waters. Continue along the Mila Mountain Tunnel, offering sweeping mountain vistas en route to Lhasa.

Day 7Lhasa

Visit Potala Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site and former winter residence of the Dalai Lama. Experience Tibetan culture firsthand by dressing in traditional attire and receiving a professional photo to take home.
